JOHN ST. PROJECT
Project Location:
Chatham, New Jersey
Project Brief:
This gut renovation project is my most comprehensive project to date! I'm thrilled to share the story of how I turned my own family's home into a cozy modern farmhouse that's just perfect for all of us – yep, even our awesome dog, Nala.
So, here's the deal: As an interior designer, this project was like my ultimate canvas. Our house had really good bones, which was a great starting point. But I wanted more than just a regular renovation – I wanted a place that felt like "us." Throughout the renovation process, every choice was made with intention – from the carefully selected reclaimed wood accents to the thoughtfully positioned shiplap walls. Imagine blending that classic farmhouse vibe with the clean and practical vibes of modern design. That's what I aimed for, and I think we nailed it.
When you step into our living areas, it's like a comfy hug. We went for a mix of textures, laid-back colors, and furniture that practically begs you to sit down and relax. And, of course, there are those personal touches – art pieces that tell our story and bring back sweet memories.
For me, this project wasn't just about design – it was about creating a home that truly reflects who we are. It's a blend of stylish elegance and that warm, down-to-earth feeling. Our journey resulted in a space that's perfect for our family and our sweet pup, Nala (see if you can find her below in her favorite spot in the kitchen, waiting for a food opportunity🥯).
I'd love for you to take a peek through the pictures here and see how we turned a plain old house into this amazing modern farmhouse retreat. Maybe it'll spark some ideas and inspiration for your own home too.
